Pottery workshops

Treat yourself to an afternoon of calming clay! I'll show you how to prepare clay for throwing on the wheel. We will practice centering the clay and then pulling the walls up to make a pot. Its not as easy as it looks, so we will take time to really focus. You'll choose your favourite, which I will finish, fire and glaze in satin white for you. We will make time for a homebaked treat and a cuppa!

This is a 2.5 hour session and can be tailored to suit your experience and personal goals.

Prices start from 1:1 £110 1:2 £160

I am also able to provide bespoke course options, covering a range of pottery techniques and studio processes. Contact me for more details.

'Days of Clay'

This is a two hour exploration of clay, allowing children to express their creativity and learn new skills. They will have a chance to try the potter's wheel to 'throw' a pot, and work to make a personalised clay item that will be glazed and fired for them to keep. Over two decades of experience working with children of all ages has enabled me to tailor these classes to be age and experience appropriate.

'Days of Clay' is named in honour of a young student who declared 'I just wish there were endless days of clay!'

Maximum group size 4.

Contact me for available times and prices.

Day Workshop with Lunch

This is a session that combines wheel throwing and handbuilding skills, learning new skills and exploring your creativity through clay, and would be an ideal gift to treat a group of friends. We spend some time learning about how to work with the clay, understanding the wheel, how to add texture and shape, and work towards sending one or two pieces to be fired and glazed. We'll break for homemade soup and bread in my cosy kitchen - or in the garden if its fine. The day runs 10am - 3pm and can be shared by up to 4 people.

Please contact me for availability and pricing.
